The biggest surprise of round 6 was guest San Salvador's (4-1) road victory over Cojute (#4) 79-76 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cojute. The best player for the winners was power forward Brayan Garcia (194-1998) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists. point guard Kevin Saravia (165-2002) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jeremy Agosto (177-1997) who recorded 27 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. San Salvador moved-up to second place. Cojute at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Salvadorenos.
Undefeated leader A.Lobos delivered the fifth consecutive victory. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Ahuachapan (0-5) 98-77. It was a good game for American forward Sean Scott (190-1997, college: Pfeiffer) who led his team to a victory with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Marc Montavious contributed with 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. American-Colombian center Freddy Asprilla (206-1988, college: Canisius) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks for Ahuachapan. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. A.Lobos have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Ahuachapan at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost.
The game in Santa Ana supposed to be also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Salvadorenos (3-2) played at the court of 7th ranked Santa Ana (1-3). Salvadorenos smashed Santa Ana 93-55 on Sunday. Michael Parra had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 22 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Joe Araujo with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Salvadorenos moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Cojute. Loser Santa Ana dropped to the eighth position with three games lost.
In the last two games of round 6 Santa Tecla was crushed by Metapan in a road game 98-77. Independiente was beaten by Brujos at home 78-92.
